Never, ever, ever split an infinitive kiddos. It is a major grammar sin.

An infinitive is the word ‘to’ + a verb. For example: to love, to hate, to be, to walk, to talk are all infinitives.

Infinitives get split when a word is added between ‘to’ and the verb.

The following are sentences that have split infinitives in them. The BOLDED sentences are rewrites.

Caitlin went to quickly get ready for work.
Caitlin went to get ready quickly for work.

We are going to irrationally split infinitives.
We are irrationally going to split infinitives.
