In most cases, active voice is the correct way to structure sentences. That is, placing the subject of the sentence before the verb. For example, the sentence “Fernando bribed the politician.” uses active voice. It clearly denotes that the subject, Fernando, performed the verb, bribery.
Passive voice, then, can blur the subject of the sentence. At any rate, it shows that the subject is being acted upon. Hence, it is no longer active. For example, the sentence “The girl was delivered to Santa.” uses passive voice. Who did the delivery? We don’t know.
